Credits and Rebates
The following incentives are currently
applied to those states which offer the large incentives. Please note
that all rebates and incentive are subject to change based on the
available budget at the time of rebate application sumottal.
State Incentive for Commercials:
The following two choices of incentive apply to California commercial
by the three state municipalities of SCE (Southern California Edison),
SDG&E (San Diego Gas & Electric) and PG&E (Pacific Gas &
Performance Based Buy-down (EPBB) Incentives:
At the start of the program on 1/1/2007, the EPBB pays a one-time up-front incentive of $1.90
per AC watt of the system purchase price.
Based Incentives (PBI):
The PBI payment will be made on a monthly basis over the 5-years
period. These payments started at $0.26 per-kWh of the actual energy
(kWh) produced by the system.
Please note that the above rebates are
subject to drop. But as soon as the incentives are
filed, the commercial property owners are locked-in with the current rate. All system
must be interconnected through participating utilities.
Jersey State Incentive for Commercials:
The New Jersey Clean Energy Program started upfront rebate that covered
up to 50% of the system cost. Due to the over subscription
for many business owners, the state of New Jersey conducted hearings to develop a more stable program. Please contact our
office for specific information and development on the commercial
Beside the state incentives, the state of New Jersey also offers Solar
Renewable Energy Certificates (S-RECs) which are the clean attributes
that are made by the solar system that are sold to large electric
companies to meet their renewable standards. Every Mega watt hour,
equals to one S-REC. Once a S-REC is created it is sold or traded to
large utility companies. The S-RECs program started selling at $240 each.

York State Incentive for Commercials:
The NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority)
are offering incentives to all business owners who pay into the SBC
(Social Benefit Charge) collected by the major utility companies.
Following are the summery of the state incentives at the start of the
- $4.00 per DC watt for commercial
systems less than 25 kW
- All commercial incentives will be
reduced by $1.00 per watt for additional capacity above 25 kW and
commercial incentives will be capped at 50 kW per site/meter and 100
kW per customer.
- All incentives are capped at 60% of
the total installed cost for all systems.
Incentive for Commercials:
Beside the state incentive, the following federal incentive also applies
to commercial solar system owners:
- One time Federal Tax credit of 30%
with no cap,
- 5 years Accelerated Capital
- Exemption from property tax
